How do children change so quickly? At first I thought the first picture was Chub... not that they look that much alike, but it just shocked me how big she is getting. And then Chub-- her hair is getting so long and she looks like a big girl instead of a baby. Beautiful,as always! Thanks for sharing.
Adorable. And I made the same mistake as Mme. Martie (the split second reaction).
BTW, that John Muir quotation that you've had on your blog since the beginning is some of the worst prosody in the world. Every time I've read it, it's just start and stop and hard to follow. Somewhat poetic, and a nice thought, but . . .
Hmm. I very much disagree. Muir writes in this kind of refined victorian hick that I just love. It's completely descriptive. It flows to my brain because I think it just kind of flows out of his without much attention to poeticity. Or whatever. To me it doth not have poor prosody; all I'm saying.
Great photos! I knew it was Little Chub, and I think she looks remarkably like Big Chub! And I am SOOO GLAD to see these photos! What lovely girls. How's that garden growing? I would like a nice garden diary for my food blog - could link to yours if you decided to keep one there...
"So abundant and novel are the objects of interest in a PURE WILDERNESS that unless you are pursuing special studies it matters little where you go, or how often to the same place. Wherever you chance to be always seems at the moment of all places the best; and you feel that there can be no happiness in this world or in any other for those who may not be happy here."
